Roadmap

This roadmap lists the deliveries that are currently envisaged as being appropriate stepping stones towards the goals outlined in FreeBT's mission statement.

Milestone 1: Alpha Release 1 (A1)
Proof of concept providing building blocks for later work:

  • Generic USB Hardware driver
  • Flexible, generic HCI abstraction
  • Conveniently packaged HCI API
  • Raw ACL Data delivery

Milestone 2: Protocol fundamentals

  • L2CAP Implementation (in user mode)
  • Flexible, generic L2CAP-based protocol framework
  • SDP implementation (proof of concept)

Milestone 3: RFCOMM implementation (in user mode)

Milestone 4: Virtual COM Port driver (kernel mode) (OS abstraction)
Sparking the beginning of user-mode projects, such as fully automated connectivity and high level user-centered functions such as synchronization.

Milestone 5: Audio drivers for SCO support (kernel mode)
